The use of exaggeration and distortion in art

1. How do exaggeration and distortion affect proportion ?2. What distorting effects can an artist use ? 3. Why do artists use distortion ? 4. How can artists create monumental qualities without using large scale

1. Exaggeration and distortion affect proportion because an artist can use it to draw attention to a particular portion of their artwork causing certain sections to look larger or smaller than in real life.

2. An artist can lengthen, enlarge, bend, warp, twist and deform a figure to make it appear distorted

3. A lot of artists use exaggeration and distortion to help to get their ideas and feelings and ideas across to the viewer better. distortion can make it easier for the artists to share their feelings in a way that makes it easier for the viewer to understand.

4. Artists can place a small head on a larger body to create a feeling of stability and calm. another way artists create monumental qualities without using large scale is through exaggerated proportions which can cause the artwork to look larger.
